Winner of Bhaskara Award 2009 for his outstanding contributions to the applications of Remote Sensing and Geoinformatics in various fields and for his outstanding leadership in the promotion of Remote Sensing activites at National and International levels. The Indian Society of Remote Sensing (ISRS) has instituted the Bhaskara Award to recognize outstanding life-time contributions in promoting Remote Sensing activities in the country.
