This course aims to provide comprehensive training on the theoretical foundations, numerical techniques, and practical applications of wave modelling in oceanographic studies and operational services. Through expert lectures, hands-on sessions, and real-case studies, participants will gain insights into state-of-the-art spectral wave models like WAVEWATCH III, wave model forcing, validation techniques, and operational forecasting frameworks. Emphasis will also be given to the practical applications of wave models in enhancing marine safety, supporting coastal infrastructure design, and assessing the impacts of climate variability and change.
