Ocean Decade Relevance

The Indian Ocean presents unique predictive challenges due to its complex circulation, strong air-sea coupling, and regional variability. In alignment with the Ocean Decade objective of "A Predicted Ocean", the Decade Collaborative Centre for the Indian Ocean Region (DCC-IOR) is actively working with global partners to strengthen predictive understanding of the region.
In this context, TAPGFD is recognized as a UN Ocean Decade Action, undertaken in collaboration with DCC-IOR, contributing to advances in ocean and climate predictability through international scientific exchange.
